Appointment Election

Appointment to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of U.S. Senator Laphonza Butler (who had been appointed fill the vacancy created by the death of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein). Because Schiff had already won the special election to for the unexpired part of Feinstein's term and was to be sworn in after the certification of the vote on December 13th, the duration of this appointment was somewhere four days.
