In 1860, there were three John Cooks living in San Francisco:
John H. Cook (born 1822 in New York), John Cook (born 1837 in Germany) and John D. B. Cook (born 1820 in England)

    2) John Cook, a member of the Democratic Party (from what was then Yuba County) who served in 1852.
    3) John Cook, a member of the Whig Party (from Stanislaus County) who served in 1855.
