  • LEGISLATION: Author of AB 2655 (Chapt 261, Stats of 2024), the "Defending Democracy from Deepfake Deception Act of 2024" which requires large online platforms to (within 72 hours) block the posting of materially deceptive content related to elections in California from 120 days before an election in California through the election day. Additionally, content that depicts or pertains to elections officials is required to be removed 120 days before elections to 60 days after.
