Special Election
Special Election to fill vacancies caused by resignations of Congressman Walter R. Tucker III (CD-37), State Senator Tom Campbell (SD-11) and Assemblyman Willie Brown (AD-13).
Tucker resigned after ethical charges were filed against him (he was later convicted). Campbell resigned after being elected to Congress, and Brown had been elected Mayor of San Francisco.
