1978: Founded the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association
1978: Co-Author (with Paul Gann), Proposition 13 [People's Initiative to Limit Property Taxation] (Passed; 65%)

  • When he died in 1986, then-Assemblyman Bill Leonard noted "He had an enormous influence. Jarvis' shadow will be over this (Capitol) building for a long time."
