Died: April 4, 1903 in Fresno, CA

1895: Candidate for Assembly Speaker (Lost; 13 to 63)

  • Bachman was the first State Assemblyman to represent Madera County after it's incorporation.
  • During the 1895 Session, William F. Rowell (of AD-63) and Bachman (of AD-62) discovered that they had fought opposite each other in a number of battles (Rowell for the Union, Bachman for the Confederacy) and became intimate friends, and so remained, for years helpful in their fraternal exchanges.
