Died: March 15, 1941 in San Francisco, CA

  • NOTE: One of the first women to serve in the Assembly in 1919.
  • NOTE: One of the first two women to chair a legislative committee. In 1919, Hughes served as chair of the Assembly Education Committee and Eleanor Miller chaired the Assembly Committee on Public Morals (now Assembly Governmental Organization).
  • Buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville.
