  • He came to California with his parents by ox-team when he was only four years of age.
  • LEGISLATION: Author of ACA 14 (1909), which became Proposition 14 (1910), adding the right to fish to the State Constitution (Section 25, Article I). In 1910, he was a Proponent listed on the ballot argument in favor of Proposition 14 (which passed).
