- LEGAL TROUBLES: On June 8th, 1908, Brusie was arrested for embezzling $500 in Los Angeles. That evening he "was in a state of nervous collapse." He died two days later. According to an article following his death, "His untimely and sad end will be deeply deplored by all who knew him."
