  • Stanley was frequently referred to as "the father of California's driver training program" based on 1953 legislation which assessed a fee on traffic violations and used the money to pay school districts to offer driver education classes.
  • In April 1956, Earl Stanley purchased the Gold Rush mining town of French Camp to create a boy's camp.
