- SILVER SCREEN: Huyck's son Willard Jr. is a writer and director best known for writing "American Graffiti" (1973) and the "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" (1984) screenplay. He also wrote and directed "Howard the Duck" (1986).
- Huyck enlisted as an Aviation Cadet in the Air Corps three weeks before Pearl Harbor. "He served in World War II as a bombardier with the Air Corps in the South Pacific, completing 52 combat missions from Guadalcanal to the Southern Philippines."
