- OUCH: "At the age of eleven years, Mr. Crowley accidentally suffered the lost of his eyesight while duck hunting."
- DISABILITY: Crowley was blind for his entire time in the Assembly.
- PLACENAME: Crowley Lane in Fairfield is named for Crowley and his wife.
- His wife Georgia was named an Honorary Assemblymember in 1941 (House Resolution 257, passed 6/7/1941). She is one of only three known "Honorary Assemblymembers" in California history.
