  • CENSURE: In January 1982, the State Senate passed SR 29, by Senator Roberti, which censured Schmitz for comments he made about abortion rights advocates at a press conference in Los Angeles.
  • Joseph E. Schmitz served as Inspector General of the Department of Defense from 2001 to 2005.
