  • Ethel Waters was married to Paul Vetter (Mayor of Coronado in the 1960s).
  • Mary Waters was a judge in the Los Angeles County Municipal Court (1980s-2000s).
  • Christine Pate, daughter of Ethel Waters, was a judge in the San Diego Superior Court from 1988 to 2008. Her husband, William C. Pate, is also a San Diego County Superior Court judge (1986-Present). The Pates were the first husband-wife team of Superior Court judges in California history.
