Born: Illinois
- DROP OUT: Smith cancelled his 2010 campaign on August 17th, saying "I am sad to announce that we will have to suspend campaign operations due to lack of financial support... All campaigns must have some support from the voters and it has become apparent just relying on my bank account to pay for everything is no longer feasible." In an interview with the San Jose Mercury News, Smith noted that "If voters don't want to support a conservative candidate in the 5th District, then I'm not going to be the one to carry water for them."
