Candidate Biography:

Born: October 3, 1827 in Troy Hills, NJ
Died: June 16, 1886 in Fredonia, NY

1861: Smith served as one of two 'seconds' for Charles W. Piercy in his duel with Daniel Showalter. Piercy died after being shot in the duel.
