Died: February 26, 1928 in Salinas, CA
- Died in a car crash when his vehicle departed the highway four miles west of Salinas at high speed.
- LEGISLATION: Author of AB 1224 (1923), which outlawed the wearing of masks in public. This law was written to combat the anonymity used by the KKK in order to intimidate those they opposed.
