- ON THE BALLOT TWICE: Because he was a candidate for reelection to AD-04 and a special election candidate for State Senate in SD-01, Gaines appeared twice on the November 2010 ballot. In this election, he was reelected to the Assembly, but the Senate Special Election moved to a January run-off.
