John Thomas Crenshaw
Born: 1820 in Tennessee
Married: Sarah Virginia Nash (m. 1847)
Military Service: ARMY (Civil War)
Died: July 1, 1863 in Vicksburg, Mississippi
- Crenshaw died after being buried by the firing of the second mine under the Third Louisiana Redan. Casualties in the battle were 4,835 for the Union and 32,697 for the Confederacy.
- Crenshaw's body was never recovered from the rubble following the explosion and he remains on the battlefield.
