- Supreme Court Decision: In June 1958, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a law authored by Randal F. Dickey, AB 2529 (1955), was unconstitutional. The law, which required a loyalty oath in order to apply for a particular tax exemption, was found to violate the First and Fourteenth Amendment. (Speiser v. Randall, 357 U.S. 513)
